This workshop will be interactive and demonstrate creative ways to have conversations with young people and children. This will help them to identify where, and with whom, they experience feelings of support and belonging. This could be at school, in friendships, social occasions, at home or work. Connectedness, belonging and inclusion supports young people and children’s resilience and wellbeing.
‘Belonging Maps’ are engaging activities that can help children and young people articulate how they are faring in life.
Participants will learn how to structure safe, trust-building conversations with children and young people to identify their anxieties or unexpressed needs.
- Increased ability to structure safe, trust-building conversations with children and young people to identify their anxieties or unexpressed needs;
- Increased understanding of how to apply innovative and creative communication practices in your work;
- Increased confidence and skills working in situations that are unpredictable; and
- Increased skills to identify and develop a sense of connectedness and enhanced resilience in children and young people.
